This is one of three post FIRM stilt condo
buildings. This is Building "A" which is the most
westerly of the three structures. This building
has been rendered nonconforming due to a change in
code. This permit is to install elevator lift on
to existing structure of the building.
Grade is elevated to 4.5 feet NGVD
Elevator motor and equipment must be installed
above the BFE of 14 NGVD which is 9.5 feet above
grade or designed to prevent water from entering
or accumulating within the components during
conditions of flooding. Construction must be
anchored to resist flotation, lateral movement and
collapse during or as a result of conditions of

distance of 25 ft (7620 mm) or more above or below
the level that best serves the needs of emergency
personnel for fire–fighting or rescue purposes
shall conform to the fire fighters’ emergency
operations requirements of ASME A17.3, Safety Code
for Existing Elevators and Escalators. [101:
9.4.3.2]
