PERMIT CONDITIONS

• All documentations, including but not limited to
• corrections, revisions, clarifications, or
• engineering letters, must be submitted to an
• appropriate Building Department location.
• PERMIT APPROVAL TO CONSTRUCT 142 SQ FT ENCLOSURE
• IN V-ZONE TO EXISTING SFR STRUCTURE AS PER
• APPROVED PLANS.
• NO ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL OR PLUMBING WORK THIS
• PERMIT.
• FLOODPLAIN MANAGMENT APPROVAL: Located in SFHA
• zone VE 10 with a design flood elevation(DFE) of
• 11 feet NGVD
• Flood approval for a 142 square foot V zone
• enclosure for limited storage, parking or entry
• only.
• No habitation, finishes, plumbing, mechanical,
• utilities allowed. Only one GFI outlet and
• necessary light switch may be located below the
• DFE. Walls are designed to withstand windforce but
• fail before maximum flood force. No electric or
• utilities may be placed in breakaway walls.
• Walls must be vented in accordance with Monroe
• County Floodplain Ordinance with a net opening of
• 1 square inch for every square foot of enclosed
• space. Enclosure must have a minimum of two
• openings on separate walls. The bottom of the
• openings must be within 1 foot of adjacent grade.
• The entire opening must be at or below BFE.
• V zone certificate in file demonstrating the
• construction is anchored to resist flotation,
• lateral movement and collapse during or as a
• result of conditions of the base flood and that
• the walls of the enclosure will fail during base
• flood conditions.
• All materials, components and finishes below DFE
• must be flood damage resistant per FEMA technical
• bulletin 2.
• Enclosure may not exceed 299.00 square feet when
• measured from finished exterior dimensions. Should
• the final inspection/elevation certificate
• demonstrate the enclosure exceeds 299.00, the
• inspection will fail and the permit will not be
• closed until the enclosure size is reduced.
• Enclosure must be used solely for building entry,
• limited storage and/or parking. It cannot be used
• for habitation/living space of any kind. A final
• enclosure inspection is required prior to closing
• this permit. All work on enclosure must be
• completed and enclosure must be empty of all but
• permanent elements in order to be inspected.-MW
• ALL LUMBER BELOW BASE FLOOD MUST BE PRESSURE
• TREATED.
• PER THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE: ALL WINDOWS & DOORS
• MUST HAVE THE AFFIXED PERMANENT LABELS PROVIDED BY
• THE PRODUCT APPROVAL HOLDER. THE LABELS MUST NOT
• BE REMOVED PRIOR TO THE FINAL INSPECTIONS OR A
• CERTIFICATE, IF APPLICABLE. APPROVED SITE SPECIFIC
• DESIGN PRESSURES AND MANUFACTURE SPECIFICATIONS
• MUST BE ON SITE FOR INSPECTIONS.
• IF LABELS ARE REMOVED, THE INSPECTION WILL FAIL.
• Work in the right of way requires coordination
• with the Monroe County Public Works & Engineering
• Division.
• Work in the right of way requires coordination

• may require a separate permit or approval in
• addition to a permit issued by the Monroe County
• Building Department and /or the utilities. It is
• the responsibility of the owner to obtain all
• required permits before starting work. Failure to

• result in work stoppages or penalties.
