FLOODPLAIN REVIEW: Application for a new pool and
related equipment within a Special Flood Hazard
Area (SFHA) in a FEMA designated AE-8 flood zone
with a Design Flood Elevation (DFE) of +9-ft NGVD
and within a mapped repetitive flood loss area.
The grade is at +3.3-ft NGVD, placing the minimum
DFE +5.7-ft above grade.
Pool/spa must be anchored to prevent flotation,
lateral movement or collapse during or as a result
of conditions of the base flood. Pool equipment
must be either:
A. Elevated and securely anchored to prevent
flotation and protected to prevent water from
entering or accumulating within the components
during conditions of flooding.
OR
B. If not elevated, be anchored to prevent
flotation and protected to prevent water from
entering or accumulating within the components
during conditions of flooding. Unless properly
elevated, pool equipment may not be placed within
an enclosure under an elevated house. Lights and
machinery serving the pool and located below DFE
must be on own separate GFCI protected circuit
breaker and clearly marked on electrical panel so
power can be disconnected in case of a flood

BE EQUIPPED WITH AN ALARM SYSTEM.
GATES ON FENCES MUST BE SELF CLOSING AND SELF

TO FINAL POOL INSPECTION.
ALL ELECTRICAL WORK ON THIS PERMIT SHALL COMPLY
WITH ALL THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CURRENT EDITION
OF THE NEC.
