pool. Top of pool lip/deck may extend no further
than 12” above grade. VE zone certificate in file.
Pool equipment must be either: a. Elevated and
securely anchored to a platform; the height of the
platform could be to DFE or as high as practical,
given limitations on the owner's access.: or b. If
not elevated, be anchored to prevent flotation and
protected to prevent water from entering or
accumulating within the components during
conditions of flooding. Unless properly elevated,
pool equipment may not be placed below the
elevated structure meaning not within the
footprint of any columns or pilings. Equipment may
not be attached to a breakaway wall. -MW
ANY OPENINGS LEADING FROM RESIDENCE TO POOL MUST
BE EQUIPPED WITH AN ALARM SYSTEM.
GATES ON FENCES MUST BE SELF CLOSING AND SELF
LOCKING OR KIDS SAFE NET TO BE INSTALLED PRIOR
TO FINAL POOL INSPECTION.
Work in the right of way requires coordination
with the Monroe County Public Works & Engineering
Division. Work performed within the right of way
may require a separate permit or approval in
addition to a permit issued by the Monroe County
Building Department and /or the utilities. It is
the responsibility of the owner to obtain all
required permits before starting work. Failure to
obtain a right of way permit when required may
result in work stoppages or penalties.
