LOWER ENCLOSURE, UNDER EXISTING SFR, PER APPROVED
PLANS ONLY.

Floodplain Management: Located in SFHA zone AE 11
with a design flood elevation (DFE) of 12 feet.
This is a post FIRM stilt mobile home SFR applying
to build a 113 SF lower enclosure. Flood approval
for a 113 square foot AE zone enclosure for
limited storage, parking or entry only. No
habitation, finishes, plumbing, mechanical,
utilities allowed. Minimum electric only. Only one
electrical outlet, which must be GFCI protected,
is allowed below DFE. Light switches must be water
resistant and on own ground fault interrupt
circuit breaker.
No temperature control allowed. Walls must be
vented in accordance with Monroe County Floodplain
Ordinance with a net opening of 1 square inch for
every 1 square foot of enclosed space. Enclosure
must have a minimum of two openings on separate
walls. The bottom of the openings must be within 1
foot of adjacent grade. The entire opening must be
at or below BFE. Enclosure may not exceed 299.00
square feet, when measured from finished exterior
dimensions. Should the final inspection
demonstrate the enclosure exceeds 299.00 square
feet, the permit cannot be closed until the
enclosure size is reduced. Enclosure must be used
solely for building entry, limited storage and /or
parking. It cannot be used for habitation/living
space of any kind.
An approved final enclosure inspection is required
prior to closing permit by a Monroe County
Inspector with photos provided to the Floodplain
Coordinator for approval. All work on enclosure
must be completed and the enclosure must be empty
of all but permanent elements in order to be
inspected. SM

ENCLOSURE MAY AFFECT HOME OWNERS INSURANCE.
Work in the right of way requires coordination
with the Monroe County Public Works & Engineering
Division. Work performed within the right of way
may require a separate permit or approval in
addition to a permit issued by the Monroe County
Building Department and /or the utilities. It is
the responsibility of the owner to obtain all
required permits before starting work. Failure to
obtain a right of way permit when required may
result in work stoppages or penalties.
