This is a preFIRM ground level SFR that is
nonconforming to current elevation requirements.
Ground level buildings below base flood are
subject to the substantial improvement/substantial
damage regulations, more commonly known as the 50%
rule. This permit in the amount of $273,435,
combined with electric permit 20100819 total
$275,835 and represent a 39.0 % improvement. Per
our policy, any such repair or improvement that
exceeds 25% requires that the contractor and owner
submit a notarized affidavit and cost breakdown
for the work. Cost breakdown includes a roof
permit that is to be applied for under separate
permit, according to the agent. That included
future roof cost is to be $28,000. This permit is
approved and deemed nonsubstantial. Approval of
this permit does not guarantee future permits
should the structure be determined to be
substantially damaged, unless such permits
